I was just going by a Raimi interview that I saw on TV at the time of the release where he actually said it was intended in the film but left out due to 911. he said it was at the part where the show the multiple clips of Spidey fighting crime in the middle of the film.

I guess it's possible. I recall conflicting reports on the issue though. If I remember correctly, Laura Ziskin (the producer) took one position, Raimi took another, and yet another producer took another. The issue seems fairly muddled, but I believe the conclusive answer is that it was done for the teaser specifically. The style of the teaser is also very different from that of the final film so I don't know how well that would have worked.
