Jag, you can "profoundly dislike" murder all you want, but you asked if violence can ever be justifiable, and people have said "If it's in self-defence, yes, it is justifiable." You've turned around and said, "Well, I'm not counting self-defence because then primal instincts take over." I don't care what your opinion is. You're entitled to it. But don't put limits on the discussion. If you keep limiting it, we might end up agreeing with you, but only because we can't talk about anything else.

Okay, I skimmed your story. Touching, but a heart-wrenching story isn't going to change my mind. At war, people die. You want justification? The father died because he was killing people, and if whoever shot him hadn't, he might have been killed too. In fact, he probably was killed. Violent people die unnatural deaths.

Can violence and murder be justified? Yes. Can war be justified? Yes. Why am I still discussing this? Why am I letting you goad me with each post?
