Basically a movie that had scenes added/ changed/ removed to the fan editor's (someone like you or me) wishes to make a movie they enjoy more than the official version, or just an alternate fan-made version- is a fanedit. Like Harry Potter with the deleted scenes put back in or Star Wars with the special edition stuff removed.
