To take things further, ROTJ is a rehash of ANH. Moving onto other films, the last part of Aliens is a rehash of Alien and T2 is a rehash of the Terminator. Same plotpoints and basically even the same scenes. The stakes are just raised.

I'll have to agree with this. As poorly written as the PT was, it was similiar in many ways to the OT in order to emphasize the point that both Anakin and Luke faced a smiliar journey, the destination was just different.
