The Attack of the Clones 1080i (Star Wars Attack of the Clones.0000.ts [0001 & 0002] ~11.43gb) makes appearances in the newsgroups. (a.b.sw, a.b.hdtv)

In Germany they are playing the PT in a form of HD, but the compression seems to be in a format where hardware to record is scarce. Previous discussions on the German HDs:

Revenge of the Sith has been "On Demand" since the beginning of the year in what i'm assuming is HDTV, haven't heard any reports of differences in this version.

StarWarsFan1976 in the options/preference section of your profile, turn on the Private Messages option.
at which time you'll be asked to remove the direct link to the torrent, so might as well take care of that now.

getting any of the star wars films on HD is as illusive as accquiring the HD broadcasts of lord of the rings films.

Until like 2007 when the blu ray Lucasized versions are released as a six movie set or individually.

Defininetely looking forward to the HD version of Peter Jackson's King Kong, or if he decides to revisit the rings trilogy in HD!

“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

No, getting any of the original SW films is much, much harder than acquiring the LOTR trilogy.

Definitely looking forward to the HD version of Peter Jackson's [...] Rings trilogy in HD!

The Rings trilogy was broadcast in HD 1-2 years or so ago. At least TTT was shown in both Theatrical and Extended versions. Not so sure about the others.

Whoah whoah, going back to that first link...

"A few USC students took the Japanese Laserdisc & made their own edit of the movie, cutting out all scenes featuring Jar-Jar Binks and making many other minor tweaks. It became known as the "Phantom Edit". George Lucas requested to see a copy & then Lucasfilm issued a press release reiterating that it is illegal to copy and/or edit a Lucasfilm property."

Wait I thought what we all were doing was legal. What's this?

Most of the activities going on at the OT.com are undefined legally. The obvious copyright infringement like making one-to-one exact copies of releases is not encouraged, but the transfering of outdated and unavailable materials is appreciated. The later has few court cases to prove it's legal status. As for fan edits, the closest thing to a legal court battle, was the case of Clean Films, a religous organization who's members would buy copies of various films, and the chosen few would edit out material they thought the flock wouldn't like, and the paying members would rent those edited copies to watch. But that case was against a business, we're just individuals here. It's all shades of grey.
