I visited the czech republic when it just shaking off communism but still adjusting, and it was very odd, and a bit scary, and I also visited Slovenia (part of former yugoslavia) during the war, and that was pretty f**ked up. Ithink seeing a planefight would be kinda cool though
Come to think of it, I am not sure if Slovenia even exists anymore.
