Ok, we all agree that the PT was lacking (understatement) but that doesn't mean Lucas couldn't pull it off. Lucas could've did the PT better but for some reason he made it the way he wanted to make it at the time. I know we all love star wars and we feel like it belongs to us in some way but in reality it is GL's story and movies and he has the right to do with them as he pleases.
Look at it from a musicians point of view. A musician can write a song that he/she love and it plays true to their heart but it could get terrible reviews and have alot of people say it sucks. Does that change how the musician feels about the song? Nope. So what's my point? I don't know, my train of thought just de-railed. I hate when that happens.

In theory, very bitchin'. In the hands of George Lucas and his cronies, it would probably be very un-bitchin'.

It's not just that the PT was lacking, it's just that the whole Star Wars franchise has changed into something quite lame - You just need to look at the whole franchise to see that it is not the same entity that it once was. Hell, just check out Starwars.com, take a look at databank. Take a look at the toys that are being made, take a look at the whole sorry affair and you will see why I don't think a Star Wars TV show, even one with such a cool concept as the one mentioned (Jedi students led by Skywalker) would be all that great. It would be a whole load of flashy fight scenes, midichlorians, cool shiny spaceships and convoluted continuity, which, whatever anyone says, is NOT what Star Wras WAS about. Star Wars was a fairy tale, telling of mystical powers and noble warriors. Now it is just another Sci-Fi show, with endless spin-offs and tie-ins and 'cool' aliens and effects. I don't want to get into the whole 'They are George's Movies' debate, but Star Wars was one thing, and now it is something else, and I believe many will agree with me that the something else is not as good. A TV show would be made now, with the current George Lucas, and therefore I don't think it would be all that great.
Anyway, I really didn't want to get into that, but I can see that you are fairly new here so I just wanted to explain my POV.
