right now i'm really into "49 percent" and "Die another day". Now i'm not a huge madonna fan, but I do like my music and the thing i like about that song is the background string music. don't make fun of me, i was a closet band geek in school. and yes my best friend and i played the flute. and Yes we put on a strip show on a band trip and YES clothes most def came off! there were pictures too HAHA.

Yeah, I dig the doors. Riders on the storm is one of my favourites. Roadhouse Blues is cool too.

i'm hoping you guys can help me find a song. it's probably pretty old, i'm thinking sometime in the late 80's (maybe?) or 90's. and i think it's a spanish song and it was blasted over the radio for a long time, sounded kinda pop like and it was all in spanish, i don't think there was any english lyrics in it. it might have been from a movie but i was too young to remember what it was called. all i can remember is there was some band (who sang the song) and they were either friends or brothers and then they died (maybe in a plane crash?) and their mom was really upset and the song became really famous after that. anyone know anything about the song/movie or what i'm saying?

Didn't some people from a glam rock band die in a plane crash? Like the Skyhooks or the B-52s or something? Other than that, all I can think of is Buddy Holly and he wasn't really 80s/90s material...
MTFBWY. Always.

B-52s Ricky Wilson died of AIDS. Several members of Lynyrd Skynyrd died in a plane crash. The rock & roll landscape is littered with casualties.

How about an old folk song: The Ball of Kerrymuir!

It is a timeless song that can constantly be updated with new verses! If anyone is looking for a good laugh, find a copy of it; Jim Croce performs it well.

Speaking of Jim Croce, his song Time in a Bottle was a very good song...
I just hate stupid people.

GO JETS!!!!

Must've been the Skyhooks then...I think some of them died in either a plane or a helicopter...

You are probably thinking of Lynnard Skynnard. They were a southern rock band, most famous for the song 'Sweet Home Alabama'. The story of their death is the stuff of legends. Even today people discuss such pressing matters as whether the lead singer was killed by the crash itself or was already dead on impact from the VCR that became dislodged as the plane went down and crushed his skull. This whole album is about their rise and untimely fall (no pun intended) and is well worth checking out: Southern Rock Opera, by Drive By Truckers

I like the dredg song "Bug eyes". Dredg actually came out of my high school and have been on major radio stations...I'm so proud!

I also like Metallica, just in general I guess. Talented band, very talented.

Let's see... I'm recently into rap so any good bass-pumping song is cool.

The NIN song "Every day is exactly the same" is good too. I've listened to it probably 100 times in 2 days, never gets old for me.

Anyone familiar with the song "She Sells Sanctuary" by The Cult? Classic 80s cheese at its best..........or worst, depending on how you look at it.
