Exactly. This movie was NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A PARODY. It was NOT supposed to be a self-deprecating fun movie. Originally, it was supposed to be a bad action flick. It was supposed to be like Cellular, a BAD, BAD B-movie with a somewhat known cast, but meant to be crap. It was supposed to bomb at the box office and then make some profit from DVDs.

But suddenly, due to the ridiculous working title that leaked, a hype has been created around this movie, in order to make fun of it. It was an internet fad like all others. And the studio saw the oportunity to promote this film due to it's stupidity, using this hype - WHICH, I belive, COULD have been fabricated. This could all be a huge PLANT to generate such a hype.

So now we will have a precedent. Just because Hollywood has produced nothing but moronic crap for the past 20 years, with very few exceptions, it dosen't mean it should keep doing it. But now they've seen how stupid we are to praise that movie. I have nothing against making fun of it, but it's sad because now the studios will have a precedent: "Oh we made that piece of crap called Snakes on a Plane and the audience loved it! All we needed is the internet and a 5 day reshoot based on it!"

This whole thing reminds me of the producer on "Ed Wood":

"I don't produce films, I produce crap!" - "Is there a script?" - "Hell no! But... there's a poster!"
