Yeah, that one was easily able to be removed. I mean, it's a nice little sideplot, but I think the coolest thing about it was how it almost seemed like the book had built in a simple answer for cutting it out, since Neville was supposed to be the one that pointed Harry to the gillyweed in the book in the first place.
