I always figured Leia had been Jabba's slave for at least a few days before Luke shows up.
I also agree with Ric that once they rescue the princess and get back to Yavin 4, the attack on the death star doesn't occur till at least the next day, maybe even later.

Anyone care to do a timeline for ESB (which is probably the trickiest)?
