I've burned all my DL discs with Nero 7 using DVD-ROM mode. I burned two as DVD-Video and both failed to play in my standalone (a Cyberhome player). I create the project, create two folders (AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS) and then just copy all the files into the VIDEO_TS folder. Works like a charm every time.
I do also use the verify written data option, just in case.
Any chance someone can repost ADM ep. I on a.b.sw ? I should have checked to see that DL copy was fine before deleting my HD copy. The single layer would be great if the DL can't be posted.

Thanks.
it's on myspleen if you can download from torrents. theyre all on their m8y
Hey, a question to those who've grabbed this from MySpleen. Have any of you been able to successfully burn this to DL DVD? It plays fine off the HD, and DVDShrink can make a SL version. But I've burned 3 coasters on this which freeze about half-way through, and Shrink cannot produce a working DL version (in "No COmpression" mode). I've tried RecordNow Deluxe 7.3, and it complains that there's a problem with the format of the Video_TS folder, and refuses to burn (RN apparently will only burn the most compliant discs to maximize compatibility, that's why I went with it). I tried CopytoDVD, and NTI DVD Burner as well. Anyone have burning strategies that work with the MySpleen version, or maybe there's a problem with the files in the MS upload? Anyone? Anyone?
Okay, forgive me if this has been asked before, but is a SL version of this hybrid coming? I hate to waste the money on the expensive DL media (which they don't sell in stores here) just for the extra audio tracks (good as they may be!), plus it sounds like people are having trouble burning it anyhow. Sounds like an amazing release, and that's all that's stopping me from grabbing it, it sounds like the best yet!
Why didn't Lucas hire these dudes for the DVD Editions?!
Couldn't you just download the dual layer and shrink it down to one disc? That's what I did. In DVDShrink and keeping only one audio track, you still have 96% of the video quality.
I'm downloading the DL version from myspleen at the moment, but although there are 3 seeders and only 7 leechers, my download speed is not faster than 4 kB/s. Please seed it people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi ADM, Your ANH Hybrid edition is awesome, the work that Darth Editous and you have done is 'impressive' THANKS, so i come to ask u what tools did u use(DE and U) for this edition, i mean for the sound, to paint in/out something, to morph etc..any advices or tutorial will be helpful to me...thank a lot again and MTFBWY
The details of what all DE did are in this thread. I assume these are the kinds of details you want to know.
As for me, it was little more of a re-editing of DE's work, putting some SE stuff back in that had been removed. DE's original work is even closer to the OT with sensible fixes.
Just to summarise, I used Photoshop for painting, Debugmode's Winmorph for morphing (usually followed by a lot of Photoshopping), my own set of C functions for other more mathematical things (like image tracking), and PovRay for a little bit of CGI (the Death Star schematic).
For painting things out of moving shots, I made a "patch" and then used my tracking functions to paint the patch in. If it needs any fixing up later (for example if another object moves in front) I would use the original frame and paint it back in where necessary. The Mos Eisley droid needed more work, for example transforming the "ground" part of the patch in Photoshop as the camera whipped away.
My favourite tip is, if you're having trouble pasting something in and making it look realistic, try making it slightly transparent (75%-90% opacity).
thanks a lot for u guys, it's really a very well done work from both of u, i learned a lot from this forum, cause i've read all the posts , thanks again, i'll stay sharp from any work you'll do in futur, what about ESB is there any ADM/DE Hybride version ? MTFBWU oh..and what bout After effects did ever use it in your work DE ?
I'm a little confused by ADM's reply.. "floating around"?
Maybe he meant that somebody has a copy on disc somewhere, and they are thinking about uploading it to some site, maybe. I can hope! Maybe if it comes up we can seed it for others that might want it...
what bout After effects did ever use it in your work DE?
Nope, no After Effects. I pretty much just used the tools I've mentioned.
ADM, I can't PM you back cos I've got too many, but here's what I'd do:
Use VirtualDub-MPEG2 to open the .m2v, then select in and out points on the timeline and go to File->Save image sequence. Edit the frames then drag the first one back into VirtualDub, which will load the sequence. Then you can save as an AVI.
(As an aside, you might want to try writing an AviSynth script to load a .d2v file, which is an index file to a .m2v that you create with DGindex. Opening that in VirtualDub decodes the MPEG2 is a slightly nicer way, but the difference is barely noticeable).
Just wanted to chime in and say I enjoyed the "heresy mix", ADM. Have you thought about expanding it and adding more dubs? Or possibly doing it on other films? Being an avid MST3K fan, this would be a great way to soup up a film one has already seen a million times.
What I'd love is for others to embellish the Heresy mix and keep it going. Of course, version control would be chucked out the window, but it would be powerfully funny to hear what others can cook up.
I've considered doing it on other films as well. ANH was so ripe for the picking because of it's popularity. I've been making peanut gallery comments during that movie for years and years now.
Edit: Darth Editous: Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a shot.
As I was watching this DVD last night, I was flooding my mind with ideas for more dubs to add. This would be a fun project to work on if I ever got the time.
Yeah, somehow doing a running collection of audio to drop into the heresy mix would be great...the whole track is probably too big for anyone to host, so I'm thinking maybe posting individual clips with timecode? Hey, ADigitalMan, any way you could shed some light on where you got the SW IV logo for the menu, as well as your fonts? I've had so many problems with burning the DL version that I've decided to go into either TMPGenc or DDVRemake and reauthor the whole disc, and would like to recreate your opening menu as best I can. Oh, and as to why I'd prefer not to use Shrink to make a SL version, Shrink works fast, but it's not the best encoder around. I'm really hoping to produce the highest quality version possible of this terrific edit to replace my Offical DVD.
Menu stills were a two-layer of photos from the official menu before and after the logo appears. From there I think Krone was the font I used. I used this same formula on all of my SW edits. Simple and very tiny footprint to leave as much room for video as possible on the SL discs.
