I was in the bookstore a few months ago and found a graphic novel of Return of the Jedi, except that...it wasn't ROTJ. It was some sort of weird Twilight Zone of the movie where there were two Luke Skywalkers, and a whole bunch of other shit that didn't make sense.
The story was the same, mostly, but the plot was all different. Leia and a couple of other people blew up Jabba's place (not just the sail barge), Luke battled Vader, but Leia was on the Death Star as well, then later Luke and Leia hook up or something. It was a whole bunch of messed up shit and I was looking at it going, "WTF is this?!"
How the hell does this crap get published? And even worse, who buys it?

Well, a SW movie adaptation (as a book, comics, videogame,...) is not really considered as part of the EU...
