I wonder what they have planned? Another release of the OT in '06? Or maybe a boxset of the prequels? Maybe a complete set! It sorta makes sense to release it I suppose..to give Lucas a quick cash injection whilst they'r not making Star Wars films or Indy

They should release all 6 movies in a box set around September in time for Christmas 06, and then it will lead into the 30th anniversary several months later in May 07. I bet you they'll do something like that.

I have no hope it will be the original theatrical films on DVD, it will be another SE release with archive footage eg old documentries maybe deleted scenes from the archives Im sure, and maybe its a/also Prequel boxset/Saga boxset.

There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

In this case, I think they're not talking about "rarities" DVD releases, it's just rare stuff which will be put on the website (rare photos, audios, videos,...).

Well, if they aren't bastards about it, they will very quietly go about fixing the video.audio issues with the original DVD set of the OT.

But then again, they've hidden their flaws under the "creative decision" facade and to change them would probably force them to give in to a recall of the 2004 DVDs.

Goddamnit, I hate shooting my own hopes down.

I guess Lucas has made me more cynical.

They should make Jar Jar window clings to go along with any DVD set that comes out. That'll be easy, and it can just slide into the box. Fun for the kiddies, a nightmare for the parents. So, what else is new?
