It strikes me as funny that fans would say Ang Lee failed to make the Hulk a good/great film because he has no sense of visual style as he is too much into the human story. I always thought that was exactly the kind of person you'd want directing a superhero film - someone who can actually get at the human story beneath it all.

I personally hated the movie, and one of the reasons I hated it was because that, after doing Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and things like that, it seemed like he tried to incorporate lots of mystical elements into a movie that really didn't need them, such as his father turning into a storm. That was a major WTF moment for me.

And it wasn't the fact that he added too much human elements, it's the fact that he failed to make it interesting. Batman Begins didn't have that problem.

I'd give it a 2 out of 5.
