The sad thing about tf.n and most other Star Wars sites is those people come in to a fandom that's 20 + years previously established and fling poo everywhere like they own the place. Absolutely no respect for what started the whole thing. Nothing of the sort ever happened to Star Trek. I can't even suffer the basher's sanctuary most of the time.

While I can still withstand the Basher's sanctuary, I get annoyed by the PT gushers that try to invade one of the last bastions of freedom at TFN. And even then, the rules say talk about the movies, not the fans. But it's the "fans" that have pumped money into the bill of goods that Lucas has been peddling for years now. And I've seen how some of the mods react to sarcasm that is anything but gushing or kissing up to the revisionist history that LFL is forcing down our throats. It's as if TFN is scarred of the long arm of Lucas coming down on them for encouraging dissent.

There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

anyways, i knew there'd be like minded people here, original fans. i've been a fan since 77 and I was only 6 and have loved SW all that time... but seriously, the current division in fandom is licensing Lucas to continue to destroy the original films. and the more TF.N and SW.com push the old school fans away, so our voice won't be heard, then that is going to further encourage them to slap JarJar into the Battle of Endor somehow or systematically shorten Vader in every film to meet Hayden's size... this site is probably the best thing that has ever been done for the original films, and it's going to continue - some of us just feel that at some point, we're going to have to shout louder, in every corner

I go there and read at least twice a week, but there seems to be so much disrespect for the original films and especially the first film, there is no point me posting regularly, and you seemingly have to love every minute old George has done since 1997 to fit in with everybody, theres seemingly no inbetween, and any dissent doesnt seem welcome, and even though I dont hate the P.T totally, I do find the people in the Basher Sanctuary the only thing in the whole place worth actually reading.

ITA, WaragainsttheCouncil. I do post in other threads over there. It's just so annoying to be surrounded by people who come from such a completely different Star Wars experience most of the time. I just wonder how their parents never showed them the OT...it boggles my mind. Then there's a lot of older people over there too who like both trilogies, and part of me thinks they never connected with the movies in the first place. My dad was an adult when he saw the OT, and he doesn't like the PT. So I think it's just people that like shit movies or something. They just don't understand Star Wars, and maybe never will.

Least when I am here I will never see a thread like it did there "is Star Wars(ANH) meh?" and was shocked to find out it was actually started by a mod, and I bet there would be mega complaints if someone posted a thread "is Revenge Of The Sith meh?" there and the Classic Trilogy forum seems just so anti anything pre 97 its unbelievable, and its great there are people here who love the first film and dont class it as meh and love the original films.
