Superbit is just the name of a line of DVDs that Sony put out with no extras in order to maximize space for Video/Picture quality. There is nothing "special" about them that differentiates them from other high quality DVDs, except for the fact that they have the name label. I've seen Superbit DVDs that have been less than impressive as well.

For example, Criterion constantly comes out with reference quality stuff, that can at times be even better than Superbit quality.
