It's reasonable, but you can be sure that that had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with why it won Best Picture. The Oscars are very political.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Indeed it is, but that's the way most awards are. That's why you'll never see another solid genre film get nominated for Best Picture. Ever.

I hope you're wrong, but I fear you are not.

I saw Crash again tonight. Now it is confirmed, Crash deserved every bit of that Oscar for Best Picture. The others though great movie, pale in comparison.

Yeah, this thread prompted me to hire out 'Crash' last Tuesday and watch it. It is a brilliant movie, and one of the best commentaries on racism and prejudice that I have ever seen (if not, the best). It's not even contrived either - just the characters bring it out...it's really about the human experience in general.

Well, I just watched Capote, and of the three nominees that I've seen ( Capote,Good Night, and Good Luck, and Crash), Capote was definitely my favorite. Oddly enough, Crash was my least favorite. I still have yet to see Brokeback Mountain and Munich, though.
