Mitch, no need to apologize. Hence why this is off topic.

Zion, not completely blind, but he did lose a vast majority of his eyesight.

I remember hearing about Kirby going to an opposing stadium and the team had traveled in a bus. He started signing autographs when he arrived but had to pull himself away after nearly an hour. He told the fans to meet him back out here after the game and he would sign some more. The fans showed up, but the bus began to pull away. It stopped and Kirby got out and signed for another hour and a half. That's class.

I loved Kirby Puckett. He's a Chicago boy and, despite playing for the Twins, was always a favorite athlete in town. There are very few athletes in pro sports from other teams that have this level of reverence in Chicago if they didn't play for one of our teams. Not even Donovan McNabb who is also Chicago born and bred. I still have one of Puckett's rookie cards at home as well. He's the reason I regularly wear a Twins cap as well.

R.I.P. Kirbs.
