I haven't read them but remember that many people who saw the film hadn't yet seen the TV series and have probably even less likely read the comics so the area is still probably ripe for consideration. Also, how many comics did he write for it? Just the three? I would hope that there were a LOT more stories to be told!

I agree as I said... I guess my friend just found it easier to relate to River's character.
