sorry for resurrecting this thread but i only got to watch the movie this week (in UK the dvd came out last monday) and there is something i was wondering about and i'd like to know what you guys think:

so, at the end their big mission is to get that recording aired all over the 'verse to expose what the Alliance wants to hide. to do that they need the help of Mr. Universe. It struck me that you could say that the recording could represent the movie itself and the Alliance Fox. For the internet 'browncoats' Fox is the bad guy because it cancelled the tv show. the movie got financial help from Universal (aka Mr. Universe?? plus he got easily bribed with money...and we know that money is all important to production studios) moreover, Mal could not use the main console (the television medium?) but had to go to another unit (cinema?) to get his message broadcasted.
i'm the first to say that it's a bit far-fetched, but the similarities are striking, don't you think?
