Can't you vectorise in Photoshop? When I needed a hi-res Star Wars logo for my disc's label, I scanned it from one of the VHS covers, resized it to a higher res, then drew paths (or you could use shapes) around it. Then you fill the paths and you've got a clean hi-res logo.
