Soon SPAM Luncheon Meat was traveling to Britain and Russia to help meet quotas of 15 million cans a week. The "meat of many uses" soon achieved notoriety among the military as "the ham that didn't pass its physical" and a "meatball without basic training."

I think it's fair to say that without SPAM, we'd all be talking German today.
