I found a Buddy Christ action figure at Pike Place Market in Seattle about a month ago. I should've bought him. They had Moses too.

Congratulations to everybody who has reached personal posting landmarks in the 4 days since I was last here. I bow to you all.

To mark my 1905th post, allow me to share a historical fact about the year 1905:

The Russian Revolution of 1905 began on “Bloody Sunday” when troops fired onto a defenseless group of demonstrators in St. Petersburg. Strikes and riots followed. This event would eventually lead to the rise of communism in Russia.

Knowledge is power my friend. For example, imagine the power you can command with these snippets of knowledge:

1925: Adolf Hitler publishes Volume I of Mein Kampf

On March 25, 1925, Scottish inventor John Logie Baird gave a demonstration of televised silhouette images at Selfridge's Department Store in London. But if television is defined as the transmission of live, moving, half-tone (grayscale) images, and not silhouette or still images, Baird achieved this privately on October 2, 1925.

The following year, 1926, Baird gave the world's first public demonstration of a working television system to members of the Royal Institution and a newspaper reporter on January 26 at his laboratory in London. Unlike later electronic systems with several hundred lines of resolution, Baird's vertically scanned image, using a scanning disk embedded with a double spiral of lenses, had only 30 lines, just enough to reproduce a recognizable human face.
