it all basically comes down to the fact that lucas never shouldve tinkered with his work in the first place. aside from this many things in the prequels really destroyed the sense of mystery that was originally there, and forcing his original films to adapt to the prequels is a good indication that the effort put into the prequels was nowhere near the level of the original trilogy. the whole concept of starwars was the cliffhanger style where you dont excactly know what led up to the moment. if they would woud've payed more attention to their scripts and screenwriting and if it actually meant anything more than money to lucas then none of the continuity errors wouldve ever occoured. nothing against Temuera Morrison but jango shouldve been made to sound like boba not the other way around. the same goes for the new discussion between vader and the emperor in ESB. its not so much of a problem that changes were made so much as it was so obvious. which none of the edits should have been made in the first place. but none of the CG in all 3 movies matches up with the original footage. the best example would be the number of shots in ANH. if they were going to make changes they shouldve went out of their way to make absolutely sure that the new effects shots would match the old ones. a first step would be to not use cgi but instead use motion control like they did in the first place.
