Thank you Booshman.

I also worked on the ABC Cut of On her majesty's Secret service. It was a command from the guy who made the dvd. I think this is the most elaborate cover I made so far. I spent hours on it, especially the front cover with the Italian artwork, to balance the colors and remove some scratches, etc...

everything you want to know about the ABC cut is here: http://abcohmss.ohmss-007.com/

I recently saw it for the first time and it is quite funny. they changed a lot of things, creating flashbacks, adding a voice over.

I drew all of this artwork myself, tracing it from DVD screen grabs ...

If any of you want to attempt your own covers for this release, my original drawings are all available at:

Here's the text.

It is written among the limitless constellations of the celestial heavens, and in the depths of the emerald seas, and upon every grain of sand in the vast deserts, that the world which we see is an outward and visible dream, of an inward and invisible reality ... Once upon a time there was a golden city. In the centre of the golden city, atop the tallest minaret, were three golden balls. The ancients had prophesied that if the three golden balls were ever taken away, harmony would yield to discord, and the city would fall to destruction and death. But... the mystics had also foretold that the city might be saved by the simplest soul with the smallest and simplest of things. In the city there dwelt a lowly shoemaker, who was known as Tack the Cobbler. Also in the city... existed a Thief, who shall be ... nameless.

“ANIMATION AMONG THE MOST GLORIOUS AND LIVELY
EVER CREATED!” - The New York Times

Restoration and cover artwork by Garrett Gilchrist

For the first time ever on video, enjoy the original version of this lost animation classic, written and directed by three-time Academy Award winning
animator Richard Williams (animation director of Who Framed Roger Rabbit). Nearly 30 years in the making, a labor of love by a team of animation greats, this was to be the masterpiece of Williams’ career, perhaps the most ambitious independent animated film ever conceived. The film was the inspiration for Disney‘s film Aladdin, which proved to be its undoing. After over two decades of work, the film was taken away from Williams when he couldn’t meet his deadline. It was eventually bought by Disney, recut and destroyed. It has never been seen the way it was intended to be seen ... until now. Based on Williams’ original workprint, missing scenes have been restored using storyboards and unfinished
animation. Restored to its true form, this lost
classic has finally been found - for you at home.

Since I'm a fan of the 'minimalist' approach, here's my custom cover for Ghostbusters. 'Tis very big, to keep the quality (I put everything, legal text, logos, everything but barcode) so it works as a useable replacement cover for whichever edition you have. The screenshots on back are taken from the recent re-release with the (supposed) new transfer, but their quality doesn't seem to be all that great. Anyone who wants to use this can resize it, as I wasn't sure how to without losing the readability of the text on the back. Distribute freely, just give me credit.

BTW, I'd love to see someone give this the "3D" treatment, since I have no clue how to.

I can live with 80% of the SE additions. I even like the PT (overall). But not releasing the OOT in respectable condition? That's unacceptable.

Hi Doc,

Nice cover, and I don't know how to break it to you, but that's actually quite a low res in DVD cover terms. Here's a quote from the Star Wars cover thread which states the resolutions people are normally reccomended to work to:

Measurements for covers to fit a...

1-disc box set are - 274mm wide, 185mm high, with a spine width of 14mm - 3240 x 2188 pixels at 300dpi

4-disc box set are - 281mm wide, 185mm high, with a spine width of 20mm - 3325 x 2188 pixels at 300dpi

6-disc box set are - 288mm wide, 185mm high, with a spine width of 27mm - 3402 x 2188 pixels at 300dpi

With regards to the 3D look, someone has probably mentioned it in this thread, but I believe the tool is call Imadix or something and its for Windows. You can do a pretty good approximation in photoshop by doing a perspective transform on the spin a front cover, adding a stroke around the image for the DVD Case plastic, and then create your own 'shine' on a seperate layer for the fold in the cover.

HTH and nice job!

Guiltyspark, how are your other Transformers covers coming along (ie. the Car Robots Volume 1 one)? I ask because I've just got the hi-res of the Zone cover and it's great!

I'm going to start working on it again this week. Midterms got in the way of being on the computer much. And then Super Link 1 whenever that one finishes downloading from torrent.

For what it's worth I got this Transformers Zone thing downloaded, and I think I am currently the only seeder for it. I'm not sure if I can say where I found it as I haven't read the rules (which I'm sure clearly explain what I can and can't do if I would just take the time to read them since I know exactly where they are located,) or even give a link to it, but it is a torrent. If anyone wants it you can do a google search for it. That's how I found it. I'm already past a 1:1 ratio, but as long as it's uploading at a good 30kbs+/- clip I will keep it going for as long as I can. It is a DVD version with Japanese menus and English subtitles. The quality is pretty good from what I can tell by watching it on the computer. I just learned about this thing like a week ago. I was surprised to see it had some of the original characters.

Sorry to go OT at the OT, but I was wondering if anyone would be able to jump on and help seed this thing? In the past hour about 3 less-than-charitable people have finished and done a runner

Many Thanks
