But, the fact is, you don't have a right (in your THIRD POST) to trash Coov's work based solely on the fact that he gets a lot of praise. Especially when you haven't earned ANY respect for yourself. It might not be your cup of tea, but for me, Coov's streamlined designs, (free from being bogged down by plot synopsis', lists of bonus features, credits, etc, etc) are both unique and elegant. His work is bold and consistently good, in my opinion. He gets praise obviously because his work appeals to people. Personally, it's all I want on my shelf.

Not to mention the fact that Coov is a heck of a nice guy who is always contributing to this forum, and helping the people on it. What he doesn't do is show up waving something in your face saying "look what I did", while dumping all over other forum members.

I'm embarrassed for you.

I would just like to point out that I started my project a year ago and work on it during my free time. I created the box design in a few days over this past summer. Take a look at professionaly commerical box sets and you'll notice that they are simply cardboard with a design "pasted on." I wanted my boxset to have that look.

So? What do you want, a cookie? I wasn't referring to the construction of the box. I was referring to your choice of cover art. Same stuff we've seen a million times before. You're accusing someone else of making "boring" designs and I'm trying to spotlight for you how boring your own design is.

Regardless of how much time you did or didn't spend on making it look just perfect, it doesn't change the fact that you came on here and acted like a jerk for no reason whatsoever. What you did is not cool, Man. You don't have to attack another person's work to gain attention for your own. I'm sure Coov cares as much about his designs as you do about yours. His last post (without saying anything) suggests that he's read what you said, and doesn't really care, but I'm sure it's still hurtful.

I will be back at my home computer in about an hour and a half where I will "contribute" some more.

Coov's work is not the end all be all of star wars dvd covers. Every other post in this thread is "oh my god coov fapfapfap." Just fucking stop it. I've been re-editing the same star wars boxset for the past year now, with tons of revisions. Coov just pumps out tons of boring covers that I really can't see anyone use. In half of them, the backside has absolutely nothing more than a logo. Coov, your stuff looks nice, don't get me wrong but if you realy cared about your work you'd finalize a few of those designs for actual use.

Your work is not that bad Coov, but I'd love to see how you expand upon a lot of your ideas and go the extra mile to give them an extra flare. That's really what design is all about. As a tip, I always found small movie titles on the side of dvds hard to read. Perhaps in your next work you can make them more spread out. Also I'd like to see more developed backsides and inserts. Again, sorry for the fuss. I realize you are a very respectable person and I don't want to harm that in any way. Perhaps I was just trying to throw attention away from you.

The simplicity of my work not only is a preference of mine and a few others in here... but because there are SOOOO many transfers, edits, etc. that the creators can just take what I have done, and slap whatever the heck they want to on the back. Anyone who feels my work is incomplete looking because of simplicity, complete it to how you see fit. I don't get paid for this, and I would keep doing them if there was no one to share them with. It is all in fun.
