Because puberty was not kind to Anakin, as you can see:

Looks no different than any other early teen child actor out there IMO.

Actually, i am surprised at how much he looks like a young mark hamill!

BTW, it reminds me that in the last Harry Potter, the biggest work the visual fx guys had to do was deleting the "spots" on the teen actors' faces...

Well, concerning THAT particular photo, I must say that the photo itself is ugly... Anyone photographed with flash or any face-lighting is pretty much ugly. I've seen better photos of him...

Really? Do you have a comparison picture?

mark hamill 1972

73

Well, he doesn't look exactly like him, and Mark is about 19 or so in those photos but even if their facial structure is not the same they are strangely reminiscent of each other.

If you want to REALLY talk about a child actor who dissapeared because of their adolescance look no further than Maculy Caulkin--that kid was freakin weird as a teen. Lloyd looks comparitably normal.

I love how that 1973 news paper artical says "His future should be very interesting." Oh, if only they knew...

Just what in the wide world of sports is this thing 1972 thing?!?!
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Hamill was a big soap star before he did Star Wars.

i think it's spooky how his quote in the second article (" We need so much work done in this country and we are blowing millions and millions on the war.") is still relevant nowadays. but i guess it's true in any time of war...

Well, I would change that line in this:

"We need so much work done in this country and we are blowing millions and millions on the army ."

Cause, even when there is no war (rare thing), there are always armies...
