Darksaber: all 85 episodes of the original batman animated series have been released on DVD quite a while ago and are readily available on Amazon. As for Spiderman, there have been quite a few DVD releases, but I don't know how many and from which of the many series.

klokwerk: yeah, I already had noticed the remaining haloing/ghosting. Incredibly enough, the DVDs, while obviously more detailed than the VHS tapes, seem to have more issues like very nasty rainbowing and haloing/ghosting

. At least they don't have to be IVTCed manually
though, which is a HUGE plus. This is, however, the first filterchain I tried: I usually try 5+ filterchains until I'm satisfied.

Be creative, try as many places as you can and check your sites and P2P programs every day as content on them constantly varies.
