Whoah, whoah, whoah...no intention of confrontation here. I'm the first one to quash rumours of differences in the films. Look back and you'll see that I shot down the one about the humming of the Ark after the credits.

In the 1981 print of 'Raiders' the Raven Bar fight was a few shots longer - basically Indy getting thrown around more. It was dropped from later prints.

As for the sound mix, I guess what I'm getting at is that the DVD was remixed - for the better, but the original LD sound mix would be neat as a comparison, that's all.

'Raiders' is my favourite film of all time, and I've seen it dozens of times in several venues from 16mm to 35mm to VHS, Laser and DVD. It's the same movie I remember. The DVD did in fact "clean up" matte lines, the snake reflection, the guide track from the boulder and that's about it.

All I was saying is that it's slightly tweaked. If this were Star Wars, there would be a huge effort to duplicate the original from LD, that's all.

Is it worthwhile? Who knows. To me it is but I can always dust off the disc and fire it up, I guess.

So please, don't say I'm starting something because I'll be the first to shoot down the conspiracy theorists.
