PS: Has anybody tried using a Mac to make a rip of the LDs? If not, I might take the challenge and do it.

If you upload a copy to a free storage place like: MegaUpload or YouSendIt.com then you won't have to deal with the individual headaches. If this happens folks, please reup the files, just in case the links hit their limits.

I am uploading it right now. I just wasnt sure if I could do that in these forums. Alot of forums I belong to have a rule about outside links to files.

Hey QtheGaijin glad to have you with us!

Well, to me it sounds better because it comes from a first pressing Vinyl. It is the same track wise.

Ummm, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but if it came from a first vinyl pressing, it won't sound any better than the vinyl itself (Unless someone like me, that knows what they're doing with audio restoration, cleaned it up). But, since the CD release came from the original master tapes, it does sound better than the vinyl.

Well, being new here and someone telling me to post the link, i thought it could be alright. I was right in thinking it wasnt. Also, the copy has gone through audio restoration, after being directly ripped. Plus the CD was remastered(just like EVERYTHING Lucas has done). Other than that I will remove the link, and hope that people do enjoy this.

No harm done and I see that you were encouraged to upload- just be careful posting links. Thanks too for the info on the album. Done any other SW related audio restorations/preservations?

The droids or the records?

Just kidding. Sounds like a pretty cool collection!

Thank you. I just aquired a Pioneer CLD-A100 LD player, and am thinking about making my own DVD copy of the definitive collection(after I get my hands on a copy). I dont think I will go to the lengths that other people are going to restore the image and whatnot. I am not sure if I will do it, because you all seem to be doing insane restorations. But if I do make my own copy, I will be sure to let people know.
