no don't ask her to hang out, that is wayy to casual, it's not really a date thing. ask her to go see a movie (although it may sound bad for you, suggest a girl one that you know she would want to see, unless she is actually into the action flicks). movie is prob the best first date. cuz you get some chatting before the movie, sit and watch the movie, and then chat after. its not as bad as going for coffee and just talking the entire time and dealing with any awkward pauses or something. and then with the movie date, if things went really well THEN go for coffee. i personally like the movie-as-first-date thing. unless i already kinda know the person.
