Contact me.

And just an FYI...i'm currently making a "superbit" version of this. I figured out a way to use up ALL the space on both layers, so hopefully the quality will be even better. It'll be a higher bitrate that stays between 8500-9500 the whole time.

It was mastered with a 5.1 track. I have no idea why certain people are having it show up as 2.0. My receiver shows it as 5.1 and so does DVDLab when i authored it.

Just have to send out a bit of extra praise to the creator of this set for the very welcome inclusion of the Gongo Soundtrack.

WOW!

Hey, I wish I had this soundtrack back when I was still doing ACID!

I'm not one to enjoy electronic music much, but this is something real special here. It reminds me allot of Pink Floyd, The Soundtrack to Local Hero, and Peter Gabriel's "Passion", but much more intense and pleasing to me.

I've found the "Esper Edition" of the soundtrack by doing a search over at torrentspy. That set is nice for having allot of direct bits from the film's audio soundtrack, but the Gongo version is a much more enjoyable album.

A CD-R of those Gongo files has been spinning non-stop in my CD player for over a week now...

Cheers!

I can't even listen to the Esper Edition. If I wanted to listen to the movie, I would. That's all the Esper Edition is.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. I love the soundtrack. I've used it to relax and fall asleep since I got it almost 10 years ago at a local soundtrack store. I actually have a pressed cd of it.

WTF? Rik's link is up there for nearly three weeks and no one says a word, mine's up for thirty seconds and I get pinged?

The rules changed five days ago. Rik's link was posted and expired long before that. Nothing personal, so relax.

Due to the following quirk in the program (HDTV2DVD) used in making my original release, I'm going to go ahead with releasing my movie-only edition of Blade Runner which will, hopefully, fix any problem anyone might see with the initial release. Note: this is only happening because I'm anal and I saw the problem from the beginning...but it's barely noticeable.
i'll let you all know when I'm done.

Here's a summary of it:

The problem is, it looks like something went wrong with the pulldown removal or something else. Not sure, except to say that the "cadence" of this encode is screwed up with double-frames that don't change from one frame to the next. It's like you get frame 1, frame 2, frame 3, frame 4, frame 4, frame 5. There are repeated frames all over the place. This is very noticeable to the human eye at the start of the fourth vob file, but better yet, try opening the fourth vob in an editor or player and go one frame at a time forward. You will very quickly see the repeated frames occuring at regular intervals. Worse yet, the repeated frames look ever so-slightly different probably due to some sort of changes during the inter-frame compression of MPEG. Also, this cadence is not simply the 3:2 sequence of 24 fps film inserted into a 30 fps interlaced format. It seems something more is happening, but not sure what exactly. My guess is something happened in the workflow from capturing the interlaced 29.97 fps HDTV feed to encoding the MPEG2. There has been some discussion of this on alt.fan.blade-runner and there has also been a comparison to the DC-DVD (with an example of the cadence problem shown as an animated gif) at this page (which probably will be pulled down at some point soon, so take a look ASAP):

- WOW, great little page there! I still think you did a GREAT JOB with the tools at hand (considering you used FREE tools and not multi thousand dollar tools!)

I and the WHOLE world look forward to your MOVIE only version!!

To be honest, I dont' know the source of mine. It's very possible that it's Rikters. I'm not sure. I got it from someone here a while back and it's 16x9.

Well it's not the first time someone has ripped off my capturing/cleaning hard work...

Citizen,

To say that I "ripped it off" is unfair. You've known me to be on this board for quite some time now. I honestly had no idea where it came from and if I had, I would have posted it as such. I got it years ago (I assume from you) and since there's no way of saving emails on this friggin site, I had no idea who had sent it to me. I apologize and give you FULL credit for that transfer.

Just an update:

For those who are interested, I should be done with a "new" version of Blade Runner this week. TMPGenc worked. This one should do away with any of the problems people may have encountered on the last one. Plus the bitrate is higher. If people bitch after this one, then they can kiss my ass. I'm done with Blade Runner.
I'm actually having to re-do it because even though I set the bitrate to max out at 9500, it went over 10000. Not sure why.

I'm not sure, to be honest. I'm really rather "blade runnered" out.

I'm putting it together right now. I'll give you the final specs once it's done.
