Yeah, Moonraker has always seemed to me to be a little... farfetched for a Bond film. I mean, it's obvious that it was a cash-in on the whole Star Wars/sci-fi craze of the time.
Yeah I think it was a definate cash-in as at the end of TSWLM it was announced I believe that FYEO was the next Bond film but because of Star Wars etc they did Moonraker instead, and yes some of it was far-fetched and Drax isnt a very interesting villian and didnt like what they did to Jaws in the film turning him into a good guy as he was better as a villian like he was in TSWLM, and a some of it is just played for laughs and is a re-hash of other Bond films, though to be fair it does have some good action sequences..
