I'd love to see a Kevin Smith-scripted SW series. The animated Clerks was hilarious, and Kevin knows the SW universe very well.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Jonathan Hales had very little impact on the script. The scenes were already written and he wasnt allowed to change characters, structure or the scenes themselves. What do you expect? Hales' might as well not even credit himself.

Yeah, that would be cool, but Sansweet said in that interview that Kevin Smith would not be involved.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

what if george rewrites scripts that are good? i guess he did that with indy 4 too

lucas at least let other people write the scripts for young indy, now hes become arrogant (for whatever reason) that he thinks his scriptwriting is actually good. i want old lucas back

Yeah, that was a cool idea he had going for Young Indy. From the way everyone involved talks, it was a very enjoyable, very creative experience to work on. IMO, that's what Lucas should do with this show too. It should be a huge collaboration.

i know we need that version of lucas back, the one who was actually humble

I know there is still good in him. But, unfortunately, we won't get any more films from the good Lucas because that Lucas died when he was young, and won't be back until he dies and becomes a ghost.

Kinda funny how lucas' life parrellels Vader's in a way I think that he got over his head because of his running a business now. He actually did get better as the PT went on, but he still had alot of ring rust after ROTS.
"Who's scruffy-lookin'?" - Han Solo
"I wish my lawn was emo so it would cut itself." -sybeman
"You know, putting animals in the microwave is not a good idea. I had to learn that one the hard way." -seanwookie

well i dont think it states anywhere Lucas is writing the SCRIPTS--if i recall it is said he is writing the STORY, as in sketching out an overall plot and then letting writers pen the actual material. I believe this is the way Young Indy worked as well. Basically they are shooting it the same way--all the episodes will be filmed at once over a two year period, in effect producing a 50 hour feature film. Thus, the general storyline will be written out beforehand, by Lucas, and then the writers will come in and basically expand it into a couple seasons worth of actual scripts.
If this is the case, and i believe it is, then it can only be a good thing. My only trepidation on the series is the concept itself--maybe the low-bdugetness will make it look cheesy, or we'll know too much info about the GFFA or something. I dont know. Like i said, it has the potential to be very good so we'll just have to see. Would be cool if Vader made cameo appearances sporadically through the series, just for a few scenes, which I'm sure will happen.

On the other hand, low-budget also can spur more creativity and resourcefulness.

And if Vader does make such an appearance, I hope it is very badass, and it is in the last episode or something. They could ave the very last shot of the show of him standing directly behind the door of the Tantive IV, ready to blow it open.

That would actually be very cool.

It would be really cool. I don't know why the 100 hour episode arc couldn't be designed to end up this way. You could easily have a plot dealing with the conspiracy to steal the plans of the Death Star, the actual theft of the plans, the escape, the transfer to Leia, and the tracking of Leia's ship. There's plenty of room in there to work in a lot of PT and OT characters along the way.

I mean, sure the chronology is already shot because now the Death Star was built twenty years before ANH, but we can ignore that. Maybe it was a prototype that they saw at the end of RotS, have the design team recalled to improve it, or something--maybe throw in some of the characters from the Maw Installation.

IMO, the plot of the series will take place much closer to ROTS than ANH... Too bad, but I really think it will be done in that way, just for the commercial purpose...

You haven't read Kevin J Anderson have you? I've got to admit, I've always had a thing for books written by Timothy Zahn, but that's about it. The rest of it is *bunk*.

Hopefully it could also look at some of the Han Solo back story, and the relationship between Biggs and Luke (as touched on heavily in Lucas' original novel)
Not if anything to say about it I have
