Klokwerk's CBB DVD Covers Thread (3 Covers + Disc Art Available) — Page 4

PSYCHO_DAYV:
The revised "Doomed by the Boogeyman" cover will only feature minor text alterations on the back cover. They are small changes to make it fit with the slightly revised template I am now using. Apart from a few rearranging of words, the Screen Gems logo will be replaced by the DVD Video logo as I no longer want to include studio logos on these covers. So very minor changes. By the way, I am glad you like the covers.

Also, for those of you who like to print art onto your Fan DVDs, I will provide some basic DVD label jpgs that are designed to complement my covers.

hi klokwerk,

first of all: nice covers. Very well done. DVD details are right and the texts are well transposed to real English.

Hight Tension cover: what I like: the title writing, the large amount of blood, the overall dark atmosphere of the front. Actually this fits the movie better than the Rikter cover. What I don't like: the back picture, the middle front picture is cool but not part of our edit, the title writing on the back cover.

War of the worlds: I like the front and the title font you chose is also nice. The picture in the front may be the same as in the original cover but since it is more focussed on the red spreading and reaching plants, it delivers a different atmosphere, kind of disgusting, I like that. I don't like the back cover at all, neither the text presentation (which looks too square) nor the picture, because it is too animated.

Still I am looking very forward to adding these covers to future postings of CBB edits.

Please give me your thoughts on these updated WIPs...

I have made some changes to the "High Tension" cover. On the front I have tried implementing another image. It's a rough blend as I don't know if I should use that picture or another one. Please advise me. I'd rather not use images from the material that was cut. I've also changed the back title and back image. Is this new revision better or worse?
CBB006 - High Tension: Minus One Edit (Preview #02):
Image removed due to the cover being complete. See first post in this thread for the latest covers.

I've added an element to the spine, changed the image on the back from concept art to a piece of poster art, rearranged the text (resized/respaced too) and put in an element of the "red weed" to fill some black space. What do you think? Better? Worse?
CBB008 - War of the Worlds: Extinctive Cut (Preview #02):
Image removed due to the cover being complete. See first post in this thread for the latest covers.

NOTE: I am trying to get these covers done so they can be included on the cover CD Rikter adn PSYCHO_DAYV are putting together, so please give me any advice/thoughts ASAP.

just great! very good front pictures and writing, I am not so sure about the silver frame, but that is the series, so it's okay, the side is very nice and fitting and the back cover is sufficent and well done. Congratulations. What I like best is your diplomatic way of changing our texts and correcting them to real English and less offensive. good work.

great picture in the back!!! Since I have never seen it and it is not part of the movie, I suspect, you composed this on your own. WOW! Tough work. Very good cover art for this one too. I consider both covers finished as they are now, but then you never know what idea is still on your mind. Keep it up.

you may send me the final versions of your cover art as soon as you finished them, so I can add them to further uploads.
...after all it was worth it to keep you in the credits of WOTW TEC. ;-)

I've made a change to the cover image. It is now, higher in quality and makes sure that the logo does not become transparent. It does however, still retain the composition of the original front cover for the most part. It's a little more centered now though.
CBB008 - War of the Worlds: The Extinctive Cut (Preview #03):
Image removed due to the cover being complete. See first post in this thread for the latest covers.

Boon23, PSYCHO_DAYV, Meedermow:
I offer you the 3 covers I've done (including a slightly revised version of the CBB005 cover), along with the disc art I whipped up. Please see my latest post for the newer pack which contains the *FIXED* versions of the WOTW:TEC and HT:MOE covers. Sorry for the trouble.

That's great - thanks so much klokwerk.

I'll have some webspace very soon to be able to give them a more permanent home !

REALLY great work and shows the time and attention that you must have put into them.

All the best,

boon23:
What genre would you classify "28 Days Later" under? I am tentatively using 'horror'

Oh no! There were some slight problems with the WOTW:TEC cover and the HT:MOE cover, which I've just fixed. You will have to get this new file and delete the old versions of the WOTW:TEC & HT:MOE covers as we don't want the ones with problems being distributed. There are no problems with the DBTB cover that was in the previous file.

EDIT: Links have been removed to avoid confusion.

Hey klokwerk - I'm onto this as we speak... More to follow in about 30 mins.

Right !

Here we go klokwerk - strangely it was the Doomed By The Boogeyman cover that demonstrated errors in the first .rar for me - the others were fine !

So here are the permanent home of those 3 (but note its the "old" Doomed cover and no stomp - the rest are the updated covers (just as jpeg's - would you have preferred the png's ?) and their respective stomps - if you want updated ones then I'll just rename the file each time, but keep the same link - so these will always feature the most up-to-date ones and like I say be an enitrely permanent home !

Hope all that makes sense - by all means send me a PM if you need further clarificafion Luke

Yeah I had that problem too dark_jedi - as soon as klokwerk is up I'm sure we'll be able to fix the issue and it will be able to be downloaded from the above link just as soon as I get a working version.

Meedermow/PSYCHO_DAYV:
To have the latest versions of my covers you would need: the disc labels from the first yousendit link, the DBTB cover from the first link, and the HT:MOE and WOTW:TEC covers from the second link. As I now understand it: the DBTB stuff was corrupted in the first link? Well then...

EDIT:
Link removed to avoid confusion.

Not a problem - for the rest of the covers that's exactly the sources that I got the files from.

The Doomed By The Boogeyman link has been updated to reflect the new cover and corrected stomp (same link as above - as previously mentioned, just to make things easier !).

Well done
