I have to be honest that it scares me.
Let me tell you about the general age groups and why each worries me:
1. There are a lot of kids that I think are under 14 that lie about their age to create accounts. They "make friends" with anyone and everyone, not knowing who they are. I don't believe they understand what they are potentially getting themselves into. That is a recipe for disaster. And I don't believe its a matter of 'if' its a matter of 'when'.
2. Then there are the testosterone(sp?) driven teenager boys that add their RL friends...and any female that happens to show some measureable amount of skin in their picture. These kids worry me because they know EXACTLY what they are getting into.
3. Finally, there are the adults. I'm not worried so much by what they are doing at the site, except that they could find themselves talking to one of the kids who lied about their age.
On the positive side, some of these kids are learning HTML/CSS, alays a nice skill to have.
Kev,
There are a variety of sites out there with 'myspace layouts'. You just copy-and-paste some code and you get something fancy.
Personally, I have enough HTML and CSS knowledge that I simply viewed a random profile, checked the source code and was able to work my way through it to see how the changes were made.
