OH Jesus, my lord of the Christ, I hope they do it Young Indian Jones style with some of the OT characters in the first episode sitting around talking about the old days. Then we flash back to whatever the series is about. And they have to use the original actors for that first episode, or just Hamill, Daniels, and Davis maybe...

DAMN! I had never thought of that! That would be cool. They could show Mark, Carrie, and Harrison playing their respective characters during the time of the NJO or something, with them reminising about the events during the OT.

As SOON as GL moves into production of Indy 4 (he is still strugling with getting out of his chair and going to his desk where a new script is, and reading it), he'll move into a 15-year pre-production of the TV series.

I don't belive this is actually going to be produced.

I think its gonna be a pile of crap if its ever made and further tarnish the franchise, there is no way IMO they will be able to keep it to the standard of say a, Firefly or Battlestar Galactica.

personally if they use sets that look ot era, lessen the cg, and not violate ot continuity, i will watch. still i dont think they will make it

thats my problem, Star Wars should be the best if it is gonna be on TV but it wont be I think, and Im sure there will be better quality shows around at the time and have been better shows to compare it with and I fear it will be a mediocre show living off the Star Wars name, only surviving because of the loyalty of fans and merchandise sales

Damn! I've only just got back from the hypnotherapist to delete those prequels from my OT obsessed brain.

If this series does see the light of day, I am going to have to watch it... but I expect to be back in therapy shortly after

Yep. We all know that Jim Ward will ensure MULTIPLE merchandizing spin-ffs. Books, games, etc.

We're not, but that's no problem

I wasn't born with an innate need to hate that show or anything, but I only had to get a whiff of it (a 5 minute whiff say) and a page full of 'memorable quotes' from the show to know that it just isn't my cup of tea.

Babylon V sits in the same drawer, as in "TV Shows I enjoy MSTing". Don't worry, I don't actively 'hate them' like one might think, I just have a healthy appreciation for how bad they are (intentionally or not). If you ask me it's a rather positive outlook on things.

See now, if they had the BRAINS to do something like this, I'd watch it. It all depends on what direction they're going to take this turkey. I seriously see some kind of merit in a show like that. Heck, I'd even watch the TV show if it was like Police Academy with Luke as the Chief of Police. hahaha. I mean, more like Jedi Academy of course. :\

The show has the potential to be great.

However, the show has MORE potential to be a miserable disaster.

I say we take the Saga raping on the chin and just stop now while we are ahead. Well...actually, stop now while the OT still has some dignity left in it.

But Lucas will not be in full control of the TV show. Sure he will oversee it, but it will be like the Clone Wars series, where FANS write the stories and scripts for the most part. Never fear, there is hope.

Despite my well known misgivings towards the TV Series, I will watch it from the start and give it ago, I just hope it isnt boring old stories about Bounty Hunters in the O.T era and they are actually interesting stories to watch.

TFN says rumors about TV show being set during OT are false.

We've just received word from a fan of TheForce.net, Matt Martin who was at the Sansweet presentation and writes in with this:

"I was at Wondercon and at Steve Sansweet's presentation and he did say the live action show would take place between 3 and 4 NOT during the OT as AICN said. They get stuff wrong all the time anyway. I was just hoping to clear this up for the real Star Wars fans out there who depend on TFN for their news. Not only did Sansweet say that it would take place between 3 and 4 during the Q and A but they also showed the clip from Celebration 3 of George Lucas saying it during Wondercon's SW in 2005 montage.

It would not be the same, just cause Firefly was a completely new universe, a new series, and was entirely depending on the "good" (huhum...) will of the Fox... we've seen the result...

But yeah, the "spirit" of that show was really cool, and would not have been the same with a big budget and a lot of GC action scenes.
BTW, just to say, I know that show for less than a year (before the release of Serenity) cause it has never aired in France. I've just heared of it in a Joss Whedon audio commentary on a Buffy episode. So, I've bough the 1st season on DVD (region 1 of course) and hopefully there's a french track on it (too bad there aren't french subs, which I would prefer...).
Anyway, all that to say that I've really enjoyed the show, and I was really sad that there weren't more seasons. End of the anecdote...
