That must be the first time I've seen someone proud to have the word 'wank' to their name. Only in America...

That's really disappointing about the chess thing, but on the other hand, I really can't think of an appropriate way of doing it...

Having Luke and Leia as King and Queen kinda highlights those incestual undertones of ANH and ESB. A few of my own ideas for a SW chess set:

- Death Stars or AT-ATs as rooks for the Empire.
- Yavin watch-towers as rooks for the Rebellion.
- The Imperial Guard (those red guys in ROTJ) as bishops for the Empire.
- Perhaps Darth Maul and Boba Fett as knights for the Empire(?) - or maybe Maul and Dooku?
- In all honesty, the Emperor and Darth Vader as King and Queen is kind of dodgy and weird, but with the absence of female leadership in the Empire, there's really no other option. To have Darth Vader as the most powerful Empire piece on the board is pretty appropriate, though.
- Stormtroopers as pawns is a no-brainer, as with Rebellion soldiers seen in the opening of ANH.
- Han and Chewie would make appropriate knights methinks, but it also makes sense to have Jedi Knights as knights. The only appropriate Jedi Knights to use in that context, however, are completely irrelevant and insignificant to the greater Star Wars story - the only notable Jedi that isn't a master is Luke Skywalker, and really, he should be the most important piece - the king. The fact that Jedi and Sith are both religious warrior codes makes things complicated.
- Yoda and Obi-wan as bishops is a great idea, as they really are the 'wise old wizards' of Star Wars.
- And here we are left with that incestuous duo of Luke and Leia as king and queen - impossible to avoid! It would've made perfect sense pre-ROTJ, but not now!
