Hehe, wow, that is something of a time warp.

There is no lingerie in space…

i was at o'hare airport and sat next to this fat-ish dude at the bar while waiting for a flight. we started chatting up about movies, of course, and all the while i notice he looks a ton like sean penn. well, we're sitting there having a great time, drinking beer and i ask him if he wants to smoke. he comes outside with me and when he lit his cigarette, that's where i recognized him. fucking chris penn. i'm having a cigarette and just finished a round of beers with mr. nice guy eddie himself! so we finish smoking and head back inside to drink a couple more beers before we have to head our seperate ways. finally, i can't resist. i ask him, how was it working with keitel. he asks me how i knew who he was and i said to him, dude, your chris penn. how can i NOT recognize you. he says keitel was an ass, but madsen was the coolest motherfucker (exact words). so we exchanged emails and went our seperate ways. awesome guy. very down to earth. very sad that he died so young.

I guess my biggest claim to fame is Noel Gallagher of Oasis. They were my no-1 band growing up so to meet him, and actually shake his hand and chat with him was pretty cool. I've met the whole band since then but meeting him when I was 16 was great. I've got other claims to fame but none I can be bothered to mention, and none that beat Dayv's Nirvana story.

Yeah, I remember that. I was gone for the weekend, and so I had to go back and read his posts to figure out why he was banned. Funny thing is, I read his posts now, and they really aren't that much better. It's just the shock value that's gone. Maybe AWK is losing his trolling touch.

You're not going to fool me into posting like him with a simple "I concur."

But I do agree. Every thread he posts in soon becomes, at least for a while, a thread about him. Granted, as noted by this post, I'm just as much to blame for that as any of us (excepting AWK, of course. We may talk about him, but he is him)

I do remember that Denny's was originally Sambo's. Why, you may ask? I worked @ Denny's for 6 months, and corporate history was part of the training course.

As for the Long John Silver's thing.... EEEEWWWW!!!!

I remember *going* to Sambo's and sitting at the bar (like an old diner) and seeing the illustrated Sambo 'fable' in great big panels over the cooking station.

Actually our Sambo's still stands but now its a Village Inn.
