I am a filmmaker.

What films have you made that I might have seen? When you want to argue your position based on an opinion, and you say something like that to give it some balls, expect to be called on the carpet.

And I most certainly don't want to be Peter Jackson.

When did I say YOU (or anybody else) wanted to be Peter Jackson? Maybe I should explain this for the slower people, and you know who you are (well... maybe you don't know who you are). When GL was going to film school he wanted to be a GREAT filmmaker. The problem is, he only had ONE great film in him, the first SW(TESB is a Kirshner film, not a Lucas film). Peter Jackson is clearly the film maker GL wasnted to be.

Lord of the Rings sits in a chair marked 'most overrated films of the early 21st century'.

Along with ROTJ, The Prequals, and a ton of others. The difference is, LOTR lived up to all the hype.

I am not a random jerk shitting on convention, I have thought this out and argued about it before, so please don't lump me with the knuckleheads because you disagree with me.

Maybe not, but you sure act like it. I didn't see anybody calling you a knucklehead personally. Are we a little paranoid?

sorry for the knucklehead remark, it just seems like everyone says they hate the oscars, but get pissed off when 'their' movie doesnt get nominated, which doesnt make sense

Makes no sense at all. For what it's worth, it didn't bother me that Revenge of the Sith didn't rack up loads of nominations, because I'm not exactly sure it deserves them. I pretty much unilaterally dislike the Oscars. If a film that I like gets heaps of awards, it doesn't bother me because it only means more recognition for a film that I think deserves it... however, I'd place little worth in the things themselves. It's all too political for me.

Personnally, I was very disapointed that ROTS was not nominated for more technical awards, to some extent, I agree with some of you, that other movies such as King Kong or Narnia deserve it,

or another thing that bugs me , maybe some people may think I am crazy but I think Batman Begins deserves to be nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, or even Sin City, or maybe they should invent a new category, Best Adapted Comic book lol.

Another disapointment, Batman Begins did not get a lot of nominations.

Ah well, I am able to live with it, I am able to move on, but I don't think I will watch the oscars this year, it will be the first time I won't be watching the oscars in 21 years.

I am dissapointed that Batman Begins didnt get a lot of nominations, as for Sith the effects though great, it was nothing new and groundbreaking, and though i quite like the film, it didnt deserve any major awards and I dont think it even deserved the makeup award as Palpatines makeup looked awful, i do find it amusing that old excuses have popped around the net such as "the academy hates Lucas"... even though the original trilogy was nominated and won awards
