I'm mad... very mad. I know - I mean I know for a fact, that when The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles are released on DVD, they will be those 22 re-edited films. Now, keep in mind, I don't have a problem with the film edited versions. I have several of them on tape, and thoroughly enjoy them, but I want old Indy back, dammit! I much prefer the episodic format, as it gives it more of a serial-type feal like Lucas was shooting for with Indy in the first place. Now, I understand his reasoning for editing them into films, but I know for a fact that it wasn't his "original vision" in this case. If it was his original vision, he would have made them that way in the first place. He can't blame this on technology, this is simply him changing his mind.

So, I wanted to make note here a group of Indy fans over at theraider.net have got together and are planning a preservation project for the original, unedited episodes of the series. They even list OT.com as part inspiration for the project! They are doing this on the presumption (based on Lucas's track record) that he will not trelease the unedited episodes.

I am behind them all the way on this.
