Okay, here's my problem with this. Forum software has gotten to the point where site owners can turn what would be a free-flowing, natural community into the forum equivalent of Chinese government-controlled internet access. Post this. Post that. Don't post this. Don't post that. You can post this, but only on Tuesdays between midnight and 1 a.m. while clenching a Sailor Moon VHS tape in between your ass cheeks.

There's also the ignore functionality that has become very popular in online forums, introduced by vBulletin I believe. I personally can't stand the idea of an ignore function and what it represents (fingers in the ears screaming "Nanny nanny boo-boo!"), but I knew if I didn't include it in the new software, people would throw a shitfit. I come from the old UBB days when you gathered your forces and flamed the shit out of trolls until they either gave up or the mods nuked their account. What can I say? I'm more like young X than MLK that way.

Besides, there are always workarounds. What's to prevent a user from entering a bunch of junk into the text field to get the post to go through? Now, in addition to a simple LOL reply, there's some random trash to go with it.

I'm just a bit fired up because people (not you) complain about the quality of the posts here. So do something about it already! Quit expecting the mods and forum software to shape this place into a community you find acceptable. What do these people do in real life when they have to interact with someone they don't like? There sure as hell isn't an ignore button for that. Why should there be one here?

I almost forgot. No, I don't think I'll implement such a feature
