Actually, I enjoy poltical intrigue in my sci-fi/fantasy. That's one of the reasons I love George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. Intrigue galore. I guess what I meant was there's so much to keep track of.
I watched the first 1/2 of the sci-fi mini-series around the same time I was reading the book and found it not very good, although infinitely better than what I've heard about the theatrical movie. Speaking of which...have you heard they're releasing an EXTENDED DVD version of the theatrical release? Talk about evil...
