I can't wait to see your Jaws releases, dfnyc. Been looking forward to those and the E.T. ones you had mentioned a while back.

And all I can say on this topic is that from all of the information that I have seen presented, this does very much look about as fruitless as looking for the "Biggs Print", the "Spider Pit" in Kong or the "after credits" sequence of Raiders. Even if it does exist, you are never going to see it. After over twenty years, this thing would have seen the light of day in some capacity. There are too many fans of this film for something like that to exist and not have been dug up by now.

It's also somewhat interesting to note that the scene isn't even mentioned on the IMDB page, while all the other missing scenes are. I just put it down to a sloppy scene. It seems rough anyway and there's a fair bit of background noise as well. In reality it's a badly edited sequence, nothing more.

It actually has really bad ADR.

I think that the one shot looked strange with the silence so they added the "See, this is what happens" after the fact.

Yeah, much like 'Workshed!' in Evil Dead 2.

It is about time this material did see the light of day whatever was trimmed or altered to Bring the Cut of Jaws down to a strange or unusual PG Rating down from an R (now raised to 12a in the uk).

To me it seems we are talking a few trims and deleted shots such as this one.

The Pond scene is actually trimmed where the guy is bitten also perhaps or something missing

It also has the scene of him carried away previously mentioned.

There is also a unique cut in the TV version of Quint diddling with his Fishing Tackle box whilst hooper is pulling faces on the Orca feels like Missing Splice in the Theatrical and the TV is based off a workprint but censored.

A scene of Quint in the Cinema watching “Moby Dick” was shot but disallowed to use the footage… This perhaps was no good but who knows?

I feel there is a bit more we don’t know about this film and how it was censored and for it to see the light of day would be very interesting but I doubt we are talking much footage cut just gore and chomp downs it would seem.

You could Argue Steven is Happy with the film and I agree he should be, but for the sake of other Horror films it would help change opinion and help sway attitude that R and X rated horror films are acceptable to huge amounts of adults and such a film as this to break the mold would have eyes open mouths agape.
