I too envy such a person. If I had a chance, I would have all memories of SW wiped and watch all six in order.

"STOP READING MY MIND!"

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

A friend of mine hasn't seen any new SW, or the SEs. She wants to see at least ROTS. I wish I was her. She's not a big fan tho, is the thing, which may explain why. She just saw the originals on tape as a kid.

keep her pure, dont let her see the prequels or special editions. if you do watch the oot directly after, would love to hear what she thinks after that

So do all who have seen the Prequels. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the Star Wars that is given to us.

I have no problem, showing any newcomers I know or my kids, The Prequels but I do have an issue showing them the official SEs, I will show my kids the O.O.T first as I saw it as a kid, and to whoever and what I think is the best version of SE.

I'd probably corrupt my kids. I liked - and grew up with - the original SE. At some point, I'd probably dust off my old VHS box and show my children what their dad grew up on. It certainly holds more nostalgic value to me than O-OT. When the time is right, I'll show them this website as well, of course

Once the've seen the O.O.T I will show them the best version of SEs and let them choose, but I dont want them or anyone know who is new to Star Wars seeing stuff like Greedo shooting first and going WTF!!! and cringing when watching these Classic films ive been talking about

Indeed.

My dad's friend's wife did that once too. She had never seen them and I begged her to see the trilogy (pre-SE era). I asked her how she could possibly still be alive having not seen Star Wars yet.

She left without the tapes. I was crushed. My mom said it was because I pestered her too much to see them and she left kind of in disgust. But later she did see the movies. Then I was happy.

I also had a friend in my film class last semester who had never seen Star Wars either. She ended up seeing the SE of ANH and ESB, and though I was disapointed, at least it wasn't the DVD. Still wish she saw the OOT though...

What do you mean what kind of advice is this? Straight from Mithrandir himself.

I've only seen the first of the prequels and none of the SEs. Phantom Menace was so terrible (story, directing and acting), that I immediately lost any interest in anything else Lucas did after that. I know what's been altered in the SEs, but I don't have to worry with trying to un-see or un-hear any of it.

The original version of the first film is all that really interests me. ESB is just ok. ROTJ is disposable - I saw it when it was first released, but by then, my interest in anything Lucas had to say was already waning.

My Uncle saw TPM and was so disgusted with it that he hasn't seen AOTC or ROTS and I don't think he ever will. Star Wars was is childhood literly. He was 8 when it hit theaters so it's pretty much is baby. If anyone is passionate with hate at what Lucas has done to Star Wars, it's him.

SIDE NOTE: I don't know why you guys keep spelling 'literally' with one 'L' and no 'A'. *sniffs and takes a sip of his coffee and casually leaves*

Have you ever listened to how Rick McCallum says it. He says "litrally."
