I think Qui-Gon was actually sort of a hippy/druggie which is what addled his brain. "Duuuuuuddeeee... there are like these little creatures man and like they're in your blood... DUDE- in your BLOOD! And they like talk to me... yeah...

But actually I like the idea of Force-drug boosts. That would make the Jedi kinda like 'Bane' from Batman... maybe a cross between Bane and the Hulk. The Jedi shoot up before battle and then sort of 'hulk out'... "GGGrrrrrrrrr!!! OBI-WON SMASH!!! PUNY BATTLE DROIDS!!!!"
