The thing about Leia remembering her mother, I don't have anything wrong with it, you know why? Because she may be talking about her adopted mother, not her bioligical one, lots of adopted kids , when they talked about their parents, they don't talk about their bioligical ones, they refer their adopted ones because it is them (adopted parents) who raised them (adopted kids). So when Luke ask Leia if she remembers about her mother, he does not specify if it is her bilogical or her adopted mother. To me, Leia is talking about her adopted mother, and that scene is totally right to me. I don't know why fans are so confused about it. That rotj scene works totally with me.

It's been a theory proposed many times. But it doesn't work in two contexts: it doesn't work in an emotional context because if we accept that she's talking about her adoptive mother, then the scene between her and Luke has no meaning. George Lucas may or may not have lost his touch, but I don't think he would be as ineffective as to do that. Which brings me to the second point: Lucas has stated in the past that the reason he wrote that scene in the first place was because he said he wanted one of the kids to remember their mother.
