Also i've read that disney has censored the soundtracks and or films of miyazaki, what is the truth to these rumors if any?

Not in the least. Back in the nineties, Nausicaa was licensed by a small company. It was dubbed, edited, and distributed as a film the company claimed to have made called Warriors of the Wind. Miyazaki was horrified and deeply upsetted by this. There's a no exceptions, No Editing clause in the licensing agreement. Disney can't cut so much as a frame and it's been that way since Mononoke Hime.

Basically chalk it up to Disney bashing that the misinfo continues to circulate. Even the new dubs are pretty accurate, with Lassetter overseeing them. The only reason the Laputa dub has so many liberties is due to it's age.

As for Miyazaki as "The Japanese Disney", I find it quite fitting. Walt and him share many of the same commitments to quality. Besides, anime owes itself to american animation, particular Disney, seeing as they influced a man named Osamu Tezuka.
