"The Clones Revealed" (Released)

Hi all,

Ive started preliminary work on The Clones Revealed, and I’ve got a few questions that hopefully someone can help with.

Firstly, regarding available material. So far I’ve gone through the official Ep II DVD and Beneath The Dome, plus what little BTS footage there is on Hyperspace (about a 20th of whats available for Ep III). Does anyone know of any other discs (babyhum releases, spleen hoested, whatever) with any BTS stuff on. And I mean anything, even if it’s just a second of bluescreen performance!

Secondly, does anyone have any ideas for the best positioning of the Mace/Obi-Wan/Jedi Starfighter deleted scene. Ive got some footage of the drawing and designing of the craft that would fit in nicely there, just need to know where to insert the scene. Also, continuing with deleted scenes, what about the assault on the droid control ship scene, any placement ideas? I know it might disrupt the flow of the movie, but then everyones seen the movie already, I’m trying to show what you may not have seen?

Thanks guys

And the Y2K release of the trilogy had a making of Episode 2 segment with cut behind the scenes footage from building 3-PO and the Lars kitchen (why couldn't have the official DVd had had those segments instead of those boring Padme on trial ones *shakes fist with rage*)

When you say the Y2K release, do you mean VHS or DVD? I'm not quite sure what your on about, is it the Connections featurette?

I did download that once, but had trouble burning it to DVD. Is there anything worth using on it?

Its on the VHS and VCD editions. I have A-Z of AotC if you would like to trade.

Now all we need is someone to do a TPM one and we will have a saga of BTS versions.

I'd love a copy of A-Z Ell. And as for TPM, I am hereby and forthwith reserving the title 'The Menace Revealed'

The 2000 SE VHS and VCD has a EP II trailer. Not sure if it is a making of at all.

For one or two details of bh005, go here.

I too can send a VCD or do a quick transfer of the VHS. I have just checked and it is also tucked away as an extra on Segaflips SF009 which is a VCD to DVD conversion of the SE.

Hi guys,

Gonna throw this one out there and see what people think. As it stands, most of the material I've got to work with revolves around the set-pieces of the film, i.e the speeder chase, the clone battle, and the duel. One of my main problems is that, for most of the other scenes Ive got very little to work with. For example, the opening scene, I have only two very, very small clips to use, from the opening crawl through to Palpatine's office, both of Padme in her flight uniform.

So my question is, should I move the opening forward and just skip those scenes, or should I let the movie run as is and just use what I have?

As ever, your thoughts and suggestions are more than welcome

Tough question. I think I'd say trim it down to the behind the scenes stuff. I wouldn't want folks getting bored waiting for the new stuff to show up.

Yes, in this type of documentary you'll ALWAYS need to cut the scenes you don't have anything on, cut down greatly the scenes you don't have much on, and expand the scenes you have a lot on. You let the footage be your guide.

Hi all,

Just wondering about the inclusion of snapshots and various other pictures. Those who have seen The Sith Revealed know what sort of movie this is likely to be (since thats about as far as my technical knowledge goes). However, if I choose to insert these pics (which I probably will, simply to increase my choice of material), how should I go about it. Should I just throw them in there, or should I wipe to them, or have push in and outs.

Any suggestions or preferences?

Building Empire has a really effective use of stills and whatnot throughout. I suggest taking a look at that and taking some cues from there.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I hope that this isn't frowned upon, but I was wondering if anyone might be able to sort me out with the Ep II soundtrack. Those who have seen Sith Revealed know I struggled when inserting clips between shots without losing any of said shots, and I'm hoping that access to the soundtrack will help me fill these gaps.

I have just got the Ep 2 two disc Bootleg soundtrack from one of the newsgroups and I have the official release too. I could soon get those to you along with the Ep 1 single disc and two disc Ultimate Collection for when you do your Ep 1 Revealed.
